Abhimanyu Chauhan

Abhimanyu Chauhan works as a policy officer for Stichting Europe, ensuring implementation of the project – INCENTIVE.

Previously, Abhimanyu Chauhan worked with the Public Health Foundation of India as a qualitative researcher and project manager for the OneHealth initiative studying the community, system and policy-level drivers for the unprescribed use of veterinary antimicrobials and spill-over of the zoonotic diseases at the human-animal interface. He also served the International Clinical Epidemiology Network and the Indian Institute of Public Health in a similar capacity.

Abhimanyu has independent consulting experience and was the country lead for human behavioral surveillance at the EcoHealth alliance for PREDICT-2 initiative in India. He also served as lead consultant with the WHO-SEARO for situation reports for the Grade II emergency, Bangladesh/Myanmar: Rakhine conflict. He also assessed the health emergency risk profile of the Southeast Asian region for selected infections of zoonotic origin for WHO-SEARO.

Abhimanyu has (co-)authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications in indexed journals of repute and 5 book chapters. He has over 10 years of experience and holds a keen interest in health system preparedness, policy studies and the application of mixed-methods research in the control of infectious diseases. He holds a bachelor’s in Biology (B.Sc.) from the University of Rajasthan, India and a master’s degree in public health management (PGDHM) from the International Institute of Health Management and Research, New Delhi. He is trained in mixed methods research at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium.
