Robert Klein

Robert is the Chairman and President of Klein Financial Corporation, a California-based apartment and mixed-use developer. For six years, Robert served as a Board Member of the California Housing Finance Agency. He has a long record of public service and charitable commitments. Robert has led the development of new government funding programs for affordable multifamily housing and authored California’s $3 billion 2004 Stem Cell Research and Clinical Trial Initiative, serving as the new funding agency’s first Governing Board Chairman (2004-2010).

In 2020, Robert served as the author and Chairman of California’s Proposition 14, a $5.5 billion ballot initiative that expanded funding to advance stem cell research and clinical trials. He has additionally served as a patient advocate for diabetes, acting as principal negotiator on a team that passed a $1.5 billion federal funding bill for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. He has also supported initiatives to address cancer and Alzheimer’s.
