Communications Director
Liza Kane-Hartnett (she/her) is the Communications Director for the Human Immunome Project. In this role, she drives communications strategy and distills technical information to enhance the organization’s visibility, support its development, and advance its mission.
Liza has deep experience in strategic, mission-driven, and executive communications bridging global advocacy, policy, and fundraising, and has worked at the intersection of global health and human rights. Prior to the Human Immunome Project, Liza served as the Health Communications Specialist at the International Rescue Committee where she managed communications for a global team of 70+ people and translated complex material related to malnutrition, immunization, and sexual and reproductive health into targeted products for a variety of audiences. She has also held roles at the International Women’s Health Coalition—where she led global media relations and the organization’s editorial portfolio—Acumen, and the Colorado-based NGO One Earth Future. Liza has an M.S. in Global Affairs from New York University and a B.A. in History from the University of Denver. She lives in New York City.
